Gospel singer and Evangelist, Juanita Bynum was arrested. She reportedly spent the night in the Lew Sterrett Justice Center after authorities arrested her for a FTA (failure to appear) warrant in a Dallas civil proceeding against her, according to public records.
Evangelist Bynum was booked at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. She was released after she appeared in a Dallas courtroom to answer questions regarding a 2007 judgment ordering her to pay $140,000 to ALW Entertainment.
Allegedly, Bynum was sued by promoter, Al Wash for failing to perform in a play after she was already paid. According to promoter Al Wash’s attorney, Bynum has yet to pay up, though they are hopeful that the case may finally be resolved soon.
“She has disclosed the whereabouts of her assets and her business dealings,” entertainment attorney David Small said.Bynum is no stranger to controversy, in fact she was at the center of a highly publicized court case in 2008. As a result of the 2008 incident, her husband, Thomas Weeks, pleaded guilty to assaulting her and was sentenced to probation, according to reports. The couple later divorced.
I don't know what is going on with the good Rev. Dr. but she needs to get it together because church folk don't like to see their preacher's locked up!!!
