Spice Up Your Life With Change

Hello my beauties I hope you had a wonderful couple of week as I have. Its the beginning of a new season, to leaves are falling and it's time for a change. Something new to give you a fresh and  renewed look on life. Someone once told me that the only thing that is consistent in life is change. With change comes new fears of the unknown but with change also comes new experiences. This is literally a new season and what's better for a new season than I new look. Maybe you want to do something from your pass, a ponytail or if you usually wear your hair up all the time try wearing it down. This works well if you want a subtle change, nothing too permanent. Or maybe you want to add something to your look like maybe braids for easy maintenance. Whatever floats your boat as they say. Small changes like these or a drastic change depending on your personality can be a lot of fun. You can also try getting opinions of close friends or your stylist of what they would like to see on you. We often put ourselves in a box of what looks good on us, what doesn't look good on you, what your best features are or what features need to be downplayed. Sometimes we're right and sometimes we're wrong but getting help from others gives you more options. It's like having a new set of eyes to see yourself through and it maybe something totally different from what you feel you should look like. Perhaps you should try a new color hair. If you want to be settle you could do some streaks that compliment your natural hair color or if you want to be bold you could do a permanent color change to your entire head. There are many options out there to give you a little spice but what's most important is that you love it. Remember my beauties love yourselves like no one else can and you'll find what works for you. Have a wonderful day.

Stop the Hair Loss

Hello my beauties I hope you had a wonderful week. Today we will be talking about things that cause hair loss and some ways to prevent it. Well start with Genetic hair loss, also known as  androgenetic alopecia, is the most common cause for hair loss, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Some signs you may have are thinning at the sides of your head, bangs, or even balding spots throughout your scalp. How to beat it, well try products like Rogaine that can slow your hair loss without over drying, be sure to apply any hair loss treatment sparingly at first, no more than twice a day. We all love a new do but excessive flat ironing, blow drying, or dyeing is a quick way to strip your hair of much-needed nutrients. The signs of your hair is falling out from styling are, you'll notice sharp, brittle, broken ends on your strands. How to prevent this is by laying off the heat and dye! Its just that simple. Also try other alternatives to styling like rollers (watch for breakage), simple up dos, air drying, and maybe even a natural style. A lot of us may not think about it, but skin can heavily impact hair growth, particularly on your scalp. Skin conditions like dandruff and fungal infections (ringworm) can lead to hair loss. The signs are dry or greasy flakes when you brush your hair; fungal infections may cause red patches or sores on your scalp. How to beat it is by using medicated shampoos for scalp fungus and conditioner can be a cure all. A good conditioner can restore moisture to the dry scalp and make your hair healthier. These tips help by if you still have issues please see a dermatologist. Remember healthy hair is good hair. Until next time have a great day.

It's Not A Myth It's A Fact

Hello my beauties I hope you've all had a wonderful week as I did. Today I was made aware of a study done in 2011 on 326 Black women that found that nearly 60 percent showed signs of advanced hair lose. The study showed that women who suffered from this hair lose were more likely to wear hairstyles that caused traction, the too tight tugging of braids and weaves. This news is not surprising to me because I've been saying for the longest that it is not a healthy choice to continuously wear sew-ins and braids and glue in wigs. This study has simply proven my point because the average woman who wears these hairstyles is not going to a salon every week for the appropriate maintenance. African American women who have a tightly coiled curl pattern is fragile because the hair strand is weakest at the twist. Also because it is tightly coiled the sebum oil can move down the hair shaft so when you wear hairstyles that tug at the hair just breaks off. If this is done at a young age or constantly the follicle will eventually stop producing hair. If you want to keep your hair you have to get your priorities in order. You have to concentrate on hair care rather the hairstyle. If not you'll have no choice but to wear wigs glued to your because will be no hair to braid. This is no longer a myth it's a fact. Over the next couple of weeks I will be giving you more information discovered in this study on advanced hair loss. So stay tuned, I'm sure you all will find the news to be helpful in your hair care. Remember to love yourselves my beauties and have a great week.

Lock and Load

Hello my beauties I hope all is well with you all. Today I will be talking about hair locks. Hair Locks have been around since ancient Egypt and they have continued develop into popular everyday style all over the world. There are so many different ways to style hairs these days and more styles to come. It's the easiest way to me to have your natural hair with low maintenance. Also locks seem to grow very fast because its all the hair that would normally shed from your head coiled in the locks. This means in the matter of 6 months you locks that are long enough to be styled or colored. There are different sizes to do your lock in that will also give you more options of styles. These days you have a broad spectrum on products for hair locks. It can be over whelming but its best to just try out different things and you find what works best for you.

So remember my beauties to love yourselves and if your feeling like going natural with a twist think about hair locks. You may need to lock and load yourself. Have a wonderful week until next time.
